Can you tell me what his mother's maiden name was? That might be a place to start. If not there, what about his grandmother's maiden name? You stated that they arrived in New Orleans in 1930. That is strange, for Victor Anseman's father and mother (Nicholas and Marguerite Jacquot) arrived here in May of 1835 with a 9 month old son. Children born here were many - one being Victor Anseman who married Madeliene Biri. And he is known as the Father of City Park. Write me at mimihasfive@yahoo.com with your answers. I can give you the information I have and you can take it from there. I have your mother and her parents. I believe I can show you and your mom your heritage line. I will be looking for your email in my inbox. Can you get more information on this uncle/policeman whose body was found in City Park? I have not heard anything of this before you noted it in your post. You said to email you but you did not give your email address. Author: mimihasfive1 Surnames: Anseman, Buchmann, Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.anseman/4.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Tommy, so nice to hear from a long lost cousin. Sorry I didn't find your message quicker to respond. I haven't touched any of this stuff since quite a few months before Christmas. Why don't you email me at mimihasfive@yahoo.com to let me know what you have and what direction you are going? I don't have time today to go digging, but I did take down your information. I didn't have much on the Buchmann's beyond Marceline marrying John and having one child, John Jr. (not your father). To tell you the truth, I hadn't extended too far away from the Anseman's. But sometimes, information just flowed on some of the Anseman women and the men they married. I'll tell you this much: when I started (and still do to this day), I just type in Ansemann or combine it with a name I know, and I am always amazed at the information on line. But I'm not too sure where you want to go. So, although I did a lot on-line, someone did help me quite a bit. Let's see if I can help you and you! can also help me. I have quite a few questions for you. I only had the one child down for John and Marceline, John, Jr. born 08/27/1904 - two years before my father. Marceline was a brother to my grandfather Eugene Victor. So tell me something about yourself in the email - where you live, age, married, children, etc. Hoping to hear from you soon. Have a good day. My great grand parents were John and Marceline (Anseman) Buchmann. My grand parents were Victor (Vic) and Camille Buchmann and my parents are John T. (Tom) Buchmann and Beverly Morrison. I have just recently started a family tree and know just a little bit about Victor. Vic and Camille Buchmann moved to the Baton Rouge area in the early 1900's (probably 20's) and Marceline lived with my dad's family after her husband died unexpectly in 1943. I don't have the 'net, so I have to use the library. My mother's name is Patricia. Patricia Ann, to be exact. Her birthday is July 5, 1956. She did marry Ron Winkler in 2000. They are now divorced. I have two brothers - Brian Keith and Sean Michael. Brian was born in 1977, I was born in 1981, and Seanie was born in 1991. Brian is married to Hilary, and they have two kids, Jakob and Mia. Aunt Norma has a daughter. Her name is Augusta Marie. She was born in 1987. Aunt Jill has a son and a daughter. Mark was born in 1982, and Jennifer in 1997 or 98. I can't remember offhand. This is their order in birth: Norma (1953), Alphonse III (1955), Patricia (1956), John (Jack) and Jill (1959). Yes, Uncle Jack and Aunt Jill are twins (I can't believe Grandma did that to them!!). Only the girls have children; there's six of us grandchildren - 3 to Patty, 2 to Jill, and 1 to Norma. I hope that this was what you were in search for. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks, Chrissa

Did your mother marry a Ronald Winkler on Sept. 10, 2000? I have a Patricia that did. Is it your mom? I think I saw that name in Alphonse Anseman's obit. For there is another Patricia Anseman, in fact two others. So I want to make sure the correct names are with the right people. Could I ask for more information? I would like to have birthdates, birthplaces (city/state), spouses names, their parents names for: John Jill Stanley (I have from my mom that John and Jill are twins.) Norma Gomez Patricia Winkler Alphonse III Brian Crissa Jakob Mia Did I miss anyone? If you would rather answer by email, that's fine. mimihasfive@yahoo.com. I found your name listed as a survivor of Katrina. Not in any of the list - just a note on its own. I wrote the name down and waited. Now I have found you - long lost cousin. Mary Lynn

She never married, and therefore I took her maiden name when born. Neither of my uncles, Al III and John (Jack), have children. The only way the name has been kept is because my older brother, Brian, also has Anseman. He passed it to his two children, Jakob and Mia.

I have been working on the Anseman Genealogy since before Katrina, thus a newcomer. But I am having a ball. So, you mention who your grandfather is, who is your dad? If I am on the right track, I have a John and an Alphonse III. Also your aunts would be Norma, Jill and Pat. I have communicated with Norma a few times, even talked on the phone. So tell me, who is your dad which will prove I am on the right track. My lineage goes like this: Mary Lynn, William, Eugene Victor, Victor, Nicolas. Hope to hear from you even though I know it was a good while back that you wrote your message.

My genealogy on "Ansemann" starts from when them came into this country (supplied by Victor Duvic and Gene Hullinghorst). My father-in-law was Louis Joseph Anseman. He was my wife's stepfather (but she could not have loved him any more if he had been her father). Her mother is Evlyn Hancock Justi Anseman and is not 87 yrs old. I started trying to get genealogy info for my wife and my mother-in-law, feel even though my wife (Joycelyn Justi Marshall) has passed on that I am doing this in her honor. Of course, as you well know every time you find a piece of new information it is like finding a new connection or member of the family. I used to be an optimist, but after having my wife fight cancer and losing her, have become a pessimist. Hopefully God will change me back to what I used to be. I was so lucky in that I got tired of being in this empty house and went to my oldest son's in Georgia the week before we knew Katrina was going to head in our direction. I still think that my wife (even though she passed the month before) helped save me. Only had a little roof damage and a couple of trees knocked down my fence. Would love to hear from you in the future. My email address is: <jacklomarsha@yahoo.com> It had been a long time since I posted to the message board, got discouraged in that I received no new info and tried helping others with the info I had. So started on other surnames with more success. Best to you, Jack

I am fine. Sorry to hear about the death of your wife. I lost my husband 11 years ago this past March. Life goes on. But, you see, I am an optimist. Just celebrated my 50th anniversary of my graduation from St. Mary's Dominican High School in NOLA a few weeks before Easter. And now I have two grandchildren graduating from high school in this same anniversary year. Neat, I think. Life in NOLA, and surrounding areas is still very very difficult. So many need so much all at the same time - the demand is so great. Patti Anseman Stakenborgh is doing fine, and her home is slowly coming along. She and her dad, my Uncle Norman, finally got their FEMA trailers not that long before Easter. Shame. Uncle Norman's home - well, she is slowly going through everything. I think he is in his late 80's and alone. Having a rough time. So Patti has her hands full. My dad and mom, if alive, would be 100 this August. Wow! The name you mentioned I don't know at all. In fact, have never heard of the person. So sorry. Send me an email at mimihasfive@yahoo.com and let me know your email address. I would like to find out how you are related to us. Oh, before I forget, I remember you and my daughter Malaura Blanchard left messages or something quite a few years ago. Mary Lynn
