Hi Nivard, I have worked out his birth date to be around 1826. 1851 census has Robert and Julia living at 87 Dudhope Crescent, Dundee . He was a Warehouseman. He is not in the 1861 or 1871 census, but his wife and son are. According to the census he is in, it states birth in St.Andrews  Fifeshire? Don't know whether it should have been St.Andrews in Edinburgh. He was married in Arbroath in 1848 to Julia Raitt. I was hoping to get his death cert which would have given me some relevant details.
