This produced Donald Jr and two sisters, plus a few more distant in time or space. I checked the details and noted that the information was from C11275-1, which contains births extracted from the Scottish civil registers under the indexing project, so the information can be regarded as reliable (unlike anything 'submitted'). FamilySearch doesn't have the original Scottish census. The **only** places where you can see originals of the Scottish census are either online at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk, or in a family history centre where you can arrange to see it on microfilm. There is a list of FHCs on the FamilySearch web site. Ancestry has transcriptions of the census, but it's always possible that the McDonald/Sinclairs were not all living together as a family. You mentioned that Donald Jr had emigrated at a very young age - when was that exactly? It might be worth asking Angus Archives if the Brechin parochial board records contain anything on this family. http://www.angus.gov.uk/history/archives/ It's also possible that they were summoned to the kirk session to be punished for the sin of being caught in extramarital activity. The recors of the East Kirk session are in the National Archives of Scotland, reference CH2/41, but I do not know whether or not the Cathedral kirk session records survive. I have been unable to find them so far. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
