Author: DoreenCuthbert Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.ans.general/5993.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Anne, Following on from your other replies, I have checked the census on ancestry, and found the following. 1861 9 Damacre road, Brechin Donald McDonald age 49, born Rosskean, Ross-shire John McDonald age 11, son Isabella Millar McDonald, age 4 Georgina Row McDonald , age 1 (probably a wrong transcription) Anne Gibson Sinclair, age 37, sister-in-law 1851, Upper tenements, Brechin Donald, age 40 Charles, age 8, son Ann, age 6, daughter Isabella Sinclair, 69, mother-in-law Ann sinclair, 28, sister-in-law George Pilmer, 15, stepson John Bain, 1, nephew >From this, I would suggest that Donald was previously married to Anne's sister. John Bain seems likely to be Anne Sinclairs son, and the same person as John McDonald found in 1861 This is quite a mixed up family, but it does give you some leads.
