Further to my earlier reply I have traced Catherine's family via the 1901 census and it helps to build a picture of that families early lives. Robert Campbell aged 19 shepherd of Panbride married Elizabeth Kydd aged 23 of Barry. They were married at Barry 15th September 1871 after banns according to the terms of the Church of Scotland. Robert's parents were Robert Campbell shepherd and Margaret Wylie Campbell (nee Lindsay) Elizabeth's parents were John Kydd farmer and Catherine Kydd (nee Bellie). 1901 census has the family of Robert Campbell living in Barry, the family is: Robert aged 49 shepherd born Farnell Elizabeth aged 52 wife born Carnoustie James aged 28 son widower Stone mason born Falkland Islands Isabella aged 22 daughter Flax weaver born Falkland Islands John aged 19 son Shepherd born Barry Forfarshire Colin aged 17 son Apprentice stone mason born Barry Forfar Robina aged 13 daughter scholar born Barry Forfarshire Lindsay aged 10 son Scholar born Barry Forfarshire James aged 5 grandson born Barry Forfarshire David aged 2 grandson born Barry Forfarshire. >From this you can see that They married 1871 and sailed for the Falklands soon after, perhaps that was why he married so young at 19 as he was already contracted to go to the Falklands. They stayed until after Isabella's birth having had three children, James circa 1872, Elizabeth circa 1874 and Isabella circa 1876. They were back in Barry in time for Margaret's birth 2nd February 1879 at Clayholes, Barry.I think Clayholes may be a farm where Robert's father worked. Robert's son James married Elizabeth Walker 9th December 1896 and they had two sons James born 1897 and David Walker Campbell born 2nd July 1898 Lochend Cottages Barry. The 1911 census shows that Robert and Elizabeth also had a daughter Margaret born 2nd February 1879 Clayholes, Barry she was a domestic nurse and had an illegitimate daughter Elizabeth Kydd Campbell born 8th March 1910 Royal Maternity Hospital, Edunburgh. Margaret was obviously sent away for the birth but was home in time for the 1911 census where both her and her daughter were living with her parents at Lochend cottages. Hope this is of some help.
