I have a problem with two brothers which I hope you may be able to help me solve. In the census’s Stewart Young said he was born about 1820 in Dundee and his brother William, born about 1814, was not sure where he was born and gave Ireland and Dundee as places of birth (by 1841 they were both living in Greenock West) When William married in 1852 his marriage cert stated he was the son of the late William Young ‘ Bleacher ’ in Ireland. I want to know if they were born in Dundee and need your help, please, then I will know if the parents were in Scotland or Ireland although I don’t think I will be able to trace the family in Ireland as they never declared which part they came from.
