    3. dear listers, I have been trying to find a locale near Newport-on-Tay in the parish of Forgan, Fife. I believe David Walker, who had at least 10 children baptized at Forgan, might have been my MARGARET WALKER's father [Mrs Margaret Walker of Meik/Drimmie fame]. From other baptisms and from Sasines, I did learn last year that Margaret Walker's father was David...in 1736 her father was described as "in" Newport Dundee". I also learned there was a "grand uncle" John Walker, witness/or named after, at baptism of Margaret's grandson, John Skinner, son to Isabel Meik Skinner in Dundee 1753. Therefore, Margaret Walker should have had a brother named John Walker. I have found therefore, baptisms for children of a David Walker [no wife mentioned]...who had both a "John" and a "Margaret". In at least 5 of the baptisms, the father, David Walker, is described as "of" "Harlashiols"?...[1704, 1708, 1710, 1712, and 1714]. I have searched all over for "Harlashiols" which could have been "Harlowshiols" or "Harlons?hiolls" "Harlasheels"...I cannot read this word clearly, but it appears in similar script in each of the 5 baptisms. I have tried various old maps with no luck. A baptism for 1718 for Christian Walker to David, has him "heritor of Harlasheels" but another baptism 1820 for Katharine has David "in" "Harlasheels". I would appreciate any help you could offer. I am rather encouraged to believe this is "my" David Walker because Margaret first married Mr John Meik, Laird of Drimmie in 1728. thanks Liz Barker of Canada
