    3. Coming in late to this thread so this may have already been mentioned, but ... There is a digitised copy of "Territorial Soldiering in the North-East of Scotland during 1759-1814" by John Malcolm Bulloch available at http://www.archive.org/details/territorialsoldi00bulluoft which you may care to have a look at. 3. Hi Ed Thanks for the pointer As an ardent admirer of Archive.org I don't know how I missed that so thanks for telling me It and a further search of the NAS (now I can find the search) seems to confirm that the 5th Regiment of North British (or Britain) Militia was formed as follows "The counties of Fife, Stirling, Clackmannan and Kinross were united for the purpose of forming a militia, known as the 5th or Fifeshire Regiment of North British Militia. In 1803 Dumbarton was substituted for Fife to form the Stirling, Dumbarton, Clackmannan, and Kinross Militia (later the 90th Regiment of British Militia) with initially 800 men." >From the book you mentioned :- 5th or Fifeshire And 5th or Fife, i.e., Fife, Stirling - Kinross, Clackmannan So at least thats narrowed it down to only several thousand men now <vbg> The NAS hit referencing the above I am unsure if its a listing of the men or just a general publication, I will follow that up Thanks for your input, appreciated After all this I hope he is my man !
