I have an Ancestry 1841 census entry for C(K?atherine CUTHBERT, aged 81, b. 1760 living at Kirriemuir - could this be Elizabeth Thomson's mother? Was her husband James Cuthbert? One of my husband's cousins visited Menmuir, and copied gravestone inscriptions for Robert and Elizabeth and their infant d. Elizabeth. I have some information about Elizabeth's family, and would be pleased to pass this on, if you would like it - but it is really only what have found in the Census records, until the Thomson family arrived in NZ about 1890.
