I checked a photo of the gravestone I had taken and the year 1875 can clearly be seen. A death registration for Euphemia that I received earlier this week confirms that her date of birth was 31 October 1875. I am grateful for all your suggestions and will go now and check the IGI for Thomas and Margaret's children. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
