    3. Hi Paul I have also had very good help from the CWGC but I don't think you can compare the two sites of the CWGC and Ancestry in any way As far as Ancestry are concerned they have a very wide spectrum of data to contend with, much of it in handwritten forms such as the census The writing in a lot of cases is problematic to say the least, so producing the quantity of records in a reasonable time scale is a hard task, I have said on many occasions I would rather have it now warts n all than wait for the perfect article (which is totally unrealistic anyway) What I believe makes Ancestry far and away the better site of the commercial offerings is the ability to search across all databases for more or less anything unlike the majority of other sites where you have to enter a surname as a minimum Ancestry also have a facility to enter corrected or alternative names on the census , I have used it many times and leaves the original but adds the alternative which is also searchable in the normal way, once you submit it takes a couple of weeks to come through on the search Best wishes Nivard Ovington, in Cornwall (UK) >I pointed out an error in a relative's entry on the CGC website--next day I > received a personal reply and the correction was made the following week. > I > was very impressed with the response.
