    3. Thank you Barbara, thins indeed looks promising. My family include: William LAWSON b Aug 1772 at Dunbar d Sep 1829 (presumed) was a Mariner md to Margaret WATSON William LAWSON b 1793 (son of above William) d Aug 1875 at Church St., Dunbar md to Margaret KING 1851 Census lists him on board "Sisters of Inverness" at Aberdeen. Later Census listed at Church St., Dunbar, retired Ship's Master. John LAWSON b 1824 Dunbar d 1908 Haddington md Ann PATERSON (son of William above b 1793) 1891 Census listed at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Qayside, Mariner. Peter LAWSON b 1828 Dunbar d 1890 Methil, Wemyss md Isabella VALLANCE (brother of John and son of William b 1793 above) 1851 Census listed on board "Sisters of Inverness" at Aberdeen with father 1861 Census listed on "Huntingdon of Leith" 1881 Census listed on "Sarah & Ann" at Cramond MLN, Ship's Master David LAWSON b 1836 Dunbar d 1914 at West St., Dundee md Elizabeth ANDERSON (2nd md Elizabeth HALL) (brother of John and Peter and son of William b 1793 above) 1861 Census listed with brother on "Huntingdon of Leith", Ship's Mate 1871 Census listed at 25 Charles St., Dundee, Dock Gate Man where he remained till death. (I am descended from David). There are other brothers whose details are not confirmed so anyone named LAWSON is likely to be connected. I have a crooked path going back beyond William b1793 so perhaps the early mariners listed are also family. Thank you for looking this up. Is the book available to purchase somewhere?
