hi folks, I was able to download the letter "N" for Howff burials and find my Nicoll burials. [recorded I believe by Friends of Dundee City Archives] I am wondering if anyone knows if the letter "R" [eg Robertson] is available online? I cannot seem to call it up by Google. It would save me many dollars/pounds by doing this on ScotlandsPeople one by one...and I could narrow down my searches on ScotlandsPeople. thanks Liz of BC Canada
Try http://www.fdca.org.uk/FDCAHowffInfo.html. It gives a searchable pdf file. Colin 2009/4/11 Harvie Barker <harviebarker@shaw.ca> > Howff burials
Liz, I just tried the link from Colin Speed, and it worked fine for me. Personally, when I am looking for the site I just use google to look for FDCA - if it does not come up try google.co.uk - or of course just key in www.fdca.org.uk Once you get into the site, select databases, then the Howff. You should then be able to get into any of the data, including the Robertson's. There are also books of memorial inscriptions, showing memorials pre 1855 - although there are some later ones. I have the full set for Angus, so if you still can't get into the Howff site, give me specific details, and I'll see if I can find anything for you.
