    1. Re: [ANGUS] Thomas Powrie - Ship-owner Dundee
    2. I have a John Powrie buried at the Howff, Dundee. I found it hard to believe because of his age....but it has to be true. 2500 Powrie John 3 Jun 1838 27 Dundee Shipmaster Consumption Old Howff Thomas Powrie senior, merchant and shipowner - I hadn't referred to this in my previous e-mail, but I have now located a testamentary record concerning him. He died in 1848 in Dundee, and left no will. His lengthy inventory (5 pages) and short confirmation of executors names only the following relatives: James Powrie of Reswallie, nephew; Mrs Margaret Powrie or Soot, spouse of James Soot merchant in Dundee, niece; and Janet Powrie, residing in Dundee, niece. This family of Reswallie House in Rescobie parish were the original heirs to the Powrie, Coat of Arms. I have both the one in 1375, and this one in 1856, If you want to see it. They are very nice and on Scotlandspeople. When I had asked the Lyon's court for them,I got a typed transcript, and told I couldn't see the artwork. When they went online, I was delighted to see they had the artwork with them. Mary In a message dated 4/16/2009 5:57:15 A.M.
