One has to show that named persons are indeed linked, such as a marriage entry saying that X is the daughter of Y. Even then, there may be more than one Y! Baptisms simply say that a named couple had a child of that name baptised. Proving that the child is the same person in a later generation is not so easy, which is why I was suggesting that perhaps a gravestone had provided such evidence. Best regards, Gordon.
