A word of advice about the order within these rolls. I have recently had to use them to research past owners and tenants of my present house. It turned out that in the book, within each parish, you first get the estate or other major landowners, with all their properties; before the roll moves on to the smaller owners and owner-occupiers. As a result, if your ancestor was a tenant, he/she may be found under the list of properties owned by an estate, rather than where one would normally expect to find them in a roll.
