    3. Hi List, source of just about all knowledge if you ask the right people! Does anyone have an interest in tailoring and fashion? A relative in Canada has sent me some items trawled from his local newspapers including useful BMD notices from which I have extracted some fine detail. Other Dorward references have turned out to be interesting though false trails as far as remotely close family is concerned. But one is an advertisment in a Toronto paper which lists, under a representation of a man in an overcoat typical of the 1930s and 40s, several makes including "Scotch Coats" and specifically (under Scotch Coats) "Dorward Coats". What were "Dorward Coats"? I conclude that this was a brand name but who was "Dorward"? Google brings up a dozen or so specific entries that all seem to refer to the same second-hand garment on offer through e-bay but nothing to indicate who made these or where they were made. Yet in Canada and USA (according to another advertisment that a Yahoo search produced) Dorward Coats were a recognised, saleable brand in the 1930s Can anyone shed a bit of light on who the Dorward of Dorward Coats might be? He might be my relative! Cheers, Bruce D
