Our lines are both in Fife. There's a forum on Genforum here http://genforum.genealogy.com/baldy/. Note that your friend should search Baldie, Baldy, Bauld, Baude, Baldwe, Bawdy, Bawdie at least. There's a lot more variations (I've had 3 of them turn up in a single entry once!)..
