Reply to Mitchell researchers. This family has been a puzzle I can not solve for a long time. I am trying to establish the parentage of my ggggrandmother, Marjory (May) Mitchell (b. 1763?) who married John Farquharson (b. abt 1758) in 1791/92. I have tried to put together a possible family with Patrick as her father and among the many children who fit into the time frame of 16 children he may have fathered, there is his (possible) second born Alexander b.1742 who may have married Margaret Milne and had a son Alex. in 1784. Among the other children of this Patrick I had listed son George b. 1751, m. to May Cable with ch. Ann 1791, Margaret 1793, Muldrum 1799, William 1804, James 1807 and Charles 1811. Geneve, I am curious about your work with the father of George as Alex. Have you been able to document this, because I will need to restructure my info if this is proven. It may help my research or it may mean that I need to rethink my theory.
