4. Help! Vista and Scotlandspeople images Hello Irene I was in exactly the same boat, my family gave me a new laptop- I had said I don't want vista- but I got it! When I first tried to alter/cut images I had a real problem. I store all or most of my images in the folder for the relevant surname.I suppose I should put them in My Pictures but I don't- I want everything together for that particular family. I too was cursing Office Picture Manager until I learnt how to use it. I go to the folder I want- click on it then find the image I need. Click on that and bring it up- I am now in Windows photo gallery. Then go I to OPEN and click on the title Office Picture Manager. I am at the moment looking at a page from a will downloaded from Scotland's People. I have gone through the same procedure- found the folder for the surname, clicked on that, found the will I wanted- clicked on a page which has come up in Windows photo gallery, gone along the top of the screen which has the various icons for file, fix, info, print, email, make a movie, burn, print and OPEN. I clicked on OPEN and it brings up 4 options- Internet explorer-no, Personal Ancestral File or PAF- no, Paint- no or Microsoft Office Picture Manager -yes - click on that and my image is there again ready to do with it as I want. Now the other way to find you image is to click on the Microsoft image at the bottom left hand corner of your screen. That brings up a display of programs available on your computer on the left and on the right what is available on your computer Documents, Pictures, computer Network, connect to and RECENT Items - Click on that if your down load from Scotland's people is recent it may be there. Now just above the Microsoft logo at the bottom left hand corner of your screen when you click to bring up all of this is a little sign saying SEARCH. What did you name your image from Scotland's People? type it into this space- your computer will search for you and bring up- hopefully the document you want or maybe several with similar words in their title. Hope this is of help. One of my gripes with Office Picture Manager is that you cannot turn an image just by a small degree- its 90 degrees or nothing, sometimes a picture just needs a little tweak.
