    1. Re: [ANGUS] Mains of Dun - Fullerton - Pirie
    2. Wallace, yes I am interested in Dun.I have had Milne family working there at different times in the 1800's.I am particularly interested in aThomas Milne born circa 1776 who with his wife Jane Deas stayed at the Mill of Dun (Duns Mill) .Thomas died between 1841 and 1851 and I can't frind death records. His wife Jane (Jean continued to live there until her death in 1868.) Thomas's son John worked in the same area and some of his children were born in Dun.All of the family were agricultural labourers. I hane recently acquired a copy of a land entitlement from Charles the 2nds brother ,James who bestowed the land of Dun to a Milne family to be passed on to the eldest child. There were 5 brothers and I think that many of the Milne's in the Dun area would have had a connection to this family. If this is of interest to you I can send an attachment. KIND REGARDS ??????????????????????? ALF MILNE -----Original Message----- From: wallace fullerton <fullerton@comcast.net> To: angus-l <angus-l@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sat, 1 Aug 2009 3:27 am Subject: [ANGUS] Mains of Dun - Fullerton - Pirie I dropped off this list a few years back but thought it time to start looking again. Is anyone out there interested in the area around House of Dun, its associated farms (e.g., Mains of Dun,) and the nearby area in the 18th century? I am searching for information on the origins of George Fullerton, tenant farmer at the Mains from at least 1739 through about 1759. George, b.1707, married Margaret Pirie (Peirie/Perie) in 1739 and had ten children by her. The marriage was recorded in both Dun and Dunnichen records but its unclear which of them came from which location. I've found no one of either name in Dunnichen, one other Pirie near Dun, and some Fullertons scattered about near Dun, but only speculation regarding George's connection with them. In 1759 George and the family removed to a tenancy at Knox of Benholm in Kincardine. I'd be delighted to correspond and share with any other having similar interests. - w - ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ANGUS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ________________________________________________________________________ Get a FREE AOL Email account with unlimited storage.
