I am envious, Anne, that you have seen even the surface of the estate papers! They were one of my goals on a visit many years ago and I was devastated when I learned they in Edinburgh, where I had just been, and not still on the estate. We have corresponded in the past - I just searched old email and find we had frequent exchanges between 1999 and 2003 which is about when I moved on to other topics. Its a delight that you are still active here. I wish Bob Duncan were still around - he made terrific contributions to the education of those of us who are at a distance. One thing I was interested in learning from the estate papers related to George Fullerton leaving the Mains after 30 years coincidental with the death of Lord Dun and the ascendancy of his son to the title (the son who built the Bridge of Dun, I believe.) My working hypothesis is that Junior and George didn't get along for some reason and George was told to look elsewhere. I see Robert Sang didn't stay much longer.
