By that time all births had to be registered irrespective of religion, so the religious denomination doesn't come into it as far as birth certificates are concerned. Also there will be no adoption record as it was before formal adoption began. It is quite true that the old Dundee OPRs used to record the person after whom the child was named, but this event is long after that. I was looking at the modern cradle roll in Kilbrandon Church in Argyll last week, and it lists only the name of the child and the date of baptism - pretty useless for a genealogist!
