Author: ovington1_1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.ans.general/5566.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thinking that Trixie was to modern a name for 1902 I took a look at the various census to see when it first turned up, I found none at all in the Scotish census (transcripts on Ancestry) there were 52 in the English 1901 but very few before that, the first in English civil registration was 1880. Trixie being a short name for Beatrix I then looked at any Beatrix in the Scots census and found 99, one by co-incidence a WHYTE family in St Andrews, she was 17 in 1901 but surely a big leap of faith to make a connection there though :-( It sounds like she may have been registered as her birth mothers name perhaps with Trixie as a forename but as you cannot search the Scots birth registrations (as far as I know) for just a forename you have a task ahead of you Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
