    3. have you looked at google maps? Powrie Place runs at right angles with Forebank Road. There are tenements in Dundee where the door is on the corner of a building, so it might not have been clear what the address was. I just realised that the 1881 entry said Forebank St, which is at the opposite end of Forebank Road to Powrie Place. have a look at google street view, and you will be able to get a feel for what the place may have looked like at the time. There are still some old buildings in that area. 3. Sorry, my mistake. The 1881 census says Forebank Road not Street. i.e. the street that runs from Ann Street to Victoria Road. It's the right family, I'm just hoping to pin down the address. The enumerator was in Ann street (No. 37) before this address. 2 Forebank Road is (nowadays) at the Victoria Road end, so Powrie Place is more likely. The central library has Street Directories, published annually or bi-annually, which list who was at each address that year. (I think for local tax purposes) and I was hoping someone on this list in Dundee might be able to have a look for me. Is it possible that the Street numbers have changed direction over the years? 3. 37 Ann street was about 50 yards east of the junction of Forebank and Ann street and was on the south side of Ann street. There was a family called Cree lived in Hill Street in the thirties . They lived in number 28. and had 21 children. > From: colin@caspeed.co.uk > Date: Thu, 28 May 2009 17:24:15 +0100 > To: angus@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [ANGUS] Cree's in Dundee > > Sorry, my mistake.
