Hi Margaret, There were two Alexander Murrays born in Dundee at that time. Alexander Murray born 11 May 1794 Chris. 26 June 1794 parents Alexander Murray & Ann Brown Alexander Murray born 14 June 1795 Chris. 21 June 1795 parents William Murray & Sussana Galloway. If Alexander died after 1855 his death record from Scotlands People will be the best avenue to take. Lots of their records are not on the IGI. Hope this helps some.
