Hi - I have a long-standing FENTON mystery. My g-uncle George D'ALL married Jane Alexander Fenton RAMSAY. Jane was born 22 June 1912 in Dundee to Cranston RAMSAY & and Elizabeth Stewart ROSS, both of whom were also born in Dundee - Cranston the son of Robert RAMSAY & Jessie WILLIAMSON (m 3 June 1851, Arbroath), Elizabeth the daughter of Robert ROSS & Maria HOLLAND. I have not been able to determine why FENTON appears in Jane's name, unless it was perhaps the surname of a friend.
