If you can't find it on Scotlandspeople, I can check with a few credits to burn. The ones you can't find online, are the foreign births of Scottish citizens and religions other than established church (resbyterian). I have a proffesional friend, I use between visits. Even births at sea can be found if you are there in person. Many folks in the villages within a short distance of bigger cities, went to church in Dundee, or Perth at the other end of the Carse of Gowrie. Clerks in Dundee usually recorded who the child was named after, and their relationship to the child. They are one of only a few who added this wonderful detail. When was he born? Adoption records give little information beyond the name of the child and those of the adoptive parents. but every little sliver can re-erect a ship! Mary GENweb can help in Canada. There is one Gen website for each province, then one for the county, and sometimes one for each township. My rellies took a left turn into Ontario, between scotland and eventually the states. My grandfather's birthplace was unknown to me for 15 years! But the big brick wall came tumblingdown when the Ontario early graves were put online....
