Allan, Young James did die young. Both James are buried together in the Cortachy Cemetery, and listed in Volume 1, Page 56 of the Angus Monument Inscriptions series. Catherine Cable, b1807 married David Robbie from Cortachy and Clova, date unknown. David worked in the Washmill at Cortachy. They had Mary, b1830, James, b1832, John, b1834, Margaret, b1838 and David, b1841.Father David died 1874 and was a widower. Catherine was alive in 1861 but I cannot find her death after that date. Their daughter Margaret married James Kidd in 1860 and they had Laura, Maggie, Jane Ann, William David and James between 1860 and 1867. Maggie died aged 2. Young James does not appear in 1871 census so may have also died young. Mother Margaret died 1874 but I cannot seem to find the others and wonder if they emigrated? I also have a marriage for a Mary Robbie to a Charles Christie that maybe my Mary born 1830 but cannot find anything more on this couple.
