His father was John Nicholson, a farmer. I have tried Scotlands People and the register office but no luck and now my only hope is to try to search the original parish records for the above years. I think the parish records are kept at the National Archives, Edinburgh and I am asking whether anyone would be kind enough to search the records for me - I think he may have belonged to the Maisondieu Lane Burgher Church in Brechin.
