Alexander 50 yrs., Agnes 46 yrs,(born in 1831), James (son) 18, Margaret 10 - all born in Scotland, believed in Angus County, were found in North Dakota (Drayton, Pembina, Dakota Territory) according to the United States Federal Census for 1880. I cannot find any further details about this family, when they got married and when they left Scotland (between 1870 - 1873) and when they arrived in North Dakota! Is believed before 1879 as Mrs. Smith, the sister David Ford was going to visit had been very badly frozen in his encounter with the blizzard! Since there were no doctors it was necessary for his sister to remove his ear with a butcher knife on Christmas Day, 1879! (Ouch)! Burial: Agnes P. Smith.(I think this is the right Agnes). Family middle name: Pullar. Death: Jun 6, 1897 Birth: Oct. 29, 1831 Park River Memorial Park, Walsh County ND Alexander SMITH born in 1828, died in 1909. Buried at the same Cemetery. Any assistance will be very much appreciated. Ford/Crosby branch - NZ Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
