More likely to be Walker. Never came across a Halker spelling in Scotland If that is the case, I have a marriage record in Meigle 1833. Don't see any record of an Alexander birth to john and Susan in my files on the Crerar family, on this computer, but can check some old disks if you think there may be a connection.
