One has to show that named persons are indeed linked, such as a marriage entry saying that X is the daughter of Y. Even then, there may be more than one Y! Baptisms simply say that a named couple had a child of that name baptised. Helen, A few years ago you supplied some information on the family of William Stormonth and Isabella Watson to someone who is now a contact of mine. I'm directly descended from William and Isabella via son Alexander. At the time, the your middle and surname didn't rings any bells. However, now I find that there are Leightons in the descendents of another son, David, and also Robertsons (albeit a much more common name). Andrew James Mann was born 01 Jun 1845 and was christened/baptized (I'm not sure which) on 15 Jun 1845 in Aberlemno, Angus, Scotland.
