Thanks, complaining is worth a try, but I got no where with the CGC website either. My thought was, if they got many complaints at once.... but I don't think you're right, no one is listening. Our soldiers and sailors deserve better. Find My Past is a better website, for these deaths. My 92nd regiment of foot death in 1833, I was told they destroyed records back then, so there is no luck at all. Military records are just very frustrating. Thank you for listened to my complaining! I pointed out an error in a relative's entry on the CGC website--next day I received a personal reply and the correction was made the following week. I was very impressed with the response. On the other hand, I've given up with Ancestry--they seem to neither care nor want to know about the glaring transcription errors that are all too common on their site. Frustrating when organizations are not consistent in the way they respond to the concerns of their clientele--especially the ones like Ancestry that charge the big bucks. For those of you who have been researching the fisher families in Ferryden, Craig, Angus and may have been in touch with Ken Coull in Canada, please note that I have just learned that Ken and his wife were killed in a tragic car accident on 1st March in Texas. He was born in Stonehaven and emigrated to Canada with his parents and was a font of information regarding the families in Ferryden, especially the Coulls and was always ready to assist fellow researchers. A sad lose to his family and family historians Alex. Gray

Thank you very much Lesley, death rate was extremely high in those days. Thank goodness for modern medicine! Ann
Would anyone have access to Glamis cemetery? My several time great grandfather William Geddes died at Glamis October 9 1816. . I understand from a distant relative that his son in law Donald Macdonald had an inscription inscribed on the back of a family stone, but don't know what it is. William Geddes's wife was Margaret Macdonald ( I cannot find her death) and I assume this inscription relates to a family member. Any help would be appreciated Ann

Liz, I just tried the link from Colin Speed, and it worked fine for me. Personally, when I am looking for the site I just use google to look for FDCA - if it does not come up try google.co.uk - or of course just key in www.fdca.org.uk Once you get into the site, select databases, then the Howff. You should then be able to get into any of the data, including the Robertson's. There are also books of memorial inscriptions, showing memorials pre 1855 - although there are some later ones. I have the full set for Angus, so if you still can't get into the Howff site, give me specific details, and I'll see if I can find anything for you.
