Unless the Scots definition is different, if this description is true, then this is not a still birth, so the privacy rules will not have the absolute force that those for a still birth would. Due to the sensitive nature of still-birth registrations, these extracts are usually only issued to the parents of the still-born child. Normally these have included the names of the parents, and the baby has been buried in a family lair. However I do not know if this was standard practice everywhere; it may have been at the discretion of whoever managed the burial ground. The council would certainly know. My maternal grandmother was Walker in Forfar who came from a fairly large family. I have a good idea of some of her siblings' history but one hits a dead end. Robert Walker was born before 1900 and, I believe, was married and had family before WW1 when he served in the UK forces. I have evidence that he left Scotland about 1930 and eventually reached Chicago where he worked on the "surface railway". As far as I know he had two sons and a daughter. I believe the daughter died rather young and I have heard, from family in Forfar, that one of the sons visited while serving with the American forces during WW2. Can anyone suggest where I might look on-line for more information about this family in Chicago? Cheers, Bruce D

Also a birth of William Archibald Sutherland in the December quarter of 1888 in Birkenhead. You could send away for both those certificates, if you don't already have them, and this would confirm Mary's surname and tell you the name of the father of William Archibald (1). Hello Everyone I viewed and enjoyed this 5 part video from the "Who Do You Think You Are" series and thought I would pass along the Link, thinking one, or more, of our List members might have a connection with the Dundee Marmalade Keiller family. I don't know if my own KEILLER twigs has a connection. Mine is topped with James Keiller born 1759 (died Dec 25, 1846 buried Howff grave # 366); and then his son James born Dec 6, 1797 who married my Jean NEISH and I have listed their 9 children- he died December 4, 1853 and is buried in Buried Howff Grave # 368. I have never really looked further into my Keiller family to see if they have a connection with the Marmalade family Barbara Neish Bermuda. Keiller Dundee Marmalade Family http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaOAdXv0Hqg <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaOAdXv0Hqg&feature=related> &feature=related It Notes :: Monty also wants to know more about his father's ancestors. His paternal grandmother, Leila Keiller, belonged to a Dundee family that made a fortune from what's believed to have been the first commercial brand of marmalade, Keiller's. So why did she live in Esher, Surrey? And where's the cash? The Keiller connection comes through William, Leila's father. He owned a quarter of what was once the largest confectioners in the UK, yet correspondence suggests a strained relationship with his brother and later his nephew, who eventually took over the company
Agreed. This and the extended discussion about Angus and Forfarshire have been both very helpful. This is a great list.
