Hi - hope you received my last message. I have now cured the computer problem I referred to and have searched all Tacchi for occupations from the London and Bedford categories. The following may be of interest from UK C1881:- Dwelling 16 Goswell Road Census Place St. Botolph, Aldersgate, London, Middlesex Source FHL Film 1341081 PRO Ref RG11 Piece 0373 Folio 72 Page 12 George Tacchi Head Married 61 birthplace = Bedford Occpn Carver and gilder with 2 men. Ellen Tacchi wife M 39 " = Cheshunt, Hertford Percy George son 5 " = London, Middlesex Clifford John son 9 mos = ditto Fanny PAGE 18 = Wroughton, Cheshire - domestic servant. I have known previous examples of people baptised Percy who later, changed their names to Peter. However, that is not guaranteed in this case. When C2001 is eventually available, this may clarify this point. Best wishes, Brian AIFHS no 10 PS If you go to http://freebmd.rootsweb.com you will find 55records for Tacchi spread from 1838-1901, one of which is :- Percy George Tacchi - born Q3 1875 London C 1c 16. Thus, if you feel it is the best lead so far, you can obtain the birth cert from which you will find the maiden name of Ellen Tacchi and discover her birth record around 1841/2. You can then search for her marriage record, which is yet to be on freebmd under the name of George Tacchi. He would have been born around 1919/20, so it may be worth checking RC records for baptisms in Bedford around those years. Anyway, I hope this has some relevance to your needs. Best wishes. Brian.
