In the search for my greatgrandmother and watching this list I am learning such a lot - thank you! On the note of Italians leaving Italy - can anyone comment on reasons or degree of emmigration from around Naples, especially to the USA (which was before the great migration of the early 1900's??). My ggrandmother said her family (don't know if siblings where included) left Italy to go to Philadelphia - didn't like it there (for whatever reason I don't know) then migrated to England, late 1850's and ggm was born on the ship going to UK. Don't know either how they could have afforded this. I'd be grateful for any comments or suggestions about what records may exist - are there arrival lists into England for the 1850's? Cheers, Diane
