My Grandfather, probable name Francresco DE MORI was born in 1876 near Conegliano in the Veneto Region, mother Lucia BARBAROTTO, Grandparents Lucia and Angelo BARBAROTTO. Along with 300 other Italians from the Region, they joined the Marquis de Rey expedition to Australia in 1880 which ended in disaster. There is much published about this expedition which is part of Australian folklore.
