    3. Hi Diane Just read your mail, My Grandfather also told his children that he was sent to a Seminar to become a Priest and ran a way to sea. He told them this and many other things which unfortunatly I have found to be untrue during my research, so don,t take everything she said as true. I also find that our Parents remember things but in the wrong context, so I suggest you go on her Surname and the dates that you have and forget the rest until you can confirm it. My Grandfather always said that his Father was a General director for a Newspaper but it turns out that he was a Policeman and all the tales of a Villa next to Lake Como turned out to be rented houses in Como Town. 3. Hello Ruth, thanks for the reality check! You are right of course, the only truth I've found to date in my ggrandmother's story is that the birth of her first child was never registered (1876). I'm still waiting for the publication of the elusive 1901 Census in the hope of finding the birthplace of her second husband. Another part of her story was that he was the father of her first child and the reason for her running away from home instead of going into a convent. If the Census gives his birthplace, and providing he hadn't moved away from there when he was dallying with ggrandmother, then I may be able to search for similar surnames to hers in that area. A long shot I know.
