Very helpful Susana - thank you. There was only one Arnaboldi in C1881, so this is another avenue I must explore. It is interesting that in the 1880's I have found opticians (my people), you have found clock makers and I have found thermometer manufacturers in New York. Thus scientific instrument making was one of many areas of their skills. In America and Italy today, there are a number of academics in research into the Universe, so time and vision and space are all interlinked.
