The earliest ancestor that I have is GG/father x3, George CATANIA (brn circa 1779, Died 1852, in Malta He appears to have been succeded by a 100 years of CATANIAS, living and working in British India. Great grandmother STANYON witnessed and recorded for posterity,the first bloody hours of the 1857 Indian Mutiny. Her daughter, and two granddaughters married military officers, one was to receive the VC for action in Somaliland,1902. and the other,my grandfather, OBE,CIE,KPM, etc, for service in Mesopotania (WW1) and as Inspector General of Police, Burma, till 1939......
