As far as I know, the ONLY way to obtain Naturalisation Papers is to check the index in the PRO (Ref HO), and then obtain copies using the references given (if the name does indeed appear in the index). This isn't as easy as it sounds - I was purely lucky because someone was looking for their own names, and kindly came up with a 'possibility' for mine. However, visiting the PRO in London is completely out for some of us (I not only work full-time but am also a carer for a disabled husband, and am disabled myself) and the Professional Researchers I've made enquiries to seem to charge an arm and a leg to look through the index, so I'm still saving up for that!. I do wish they'd get them on-line, there can't be that many proportionate to the massive project of the census & wills (on the other hand, looking at the 1901 census, perhaps not.....!).
