    3. I have just started trying to trace my family tree and would be interested to hear from anyone who has any knowledge of either the Alutto or the Moriggia families prior to 1900. I know that my ggrandfather Moriggia was in England in 1874 but have no idea when he left Italy. My grandfather Alutto arrived in England somewhere between 1881 and 1902. A visit to the state archives in Como, Italy did not produce any information. As I am new to this game any help would be appreciated Laurita

    3. Hi laurita, My Grandfather also came from Como. I visited Como last Summer. I was able to get information from the council archives, but you do need to have a birth date after about 1870. They were not over helpful but after insisting they did get me out several family files. Did they come from Como town or from around the lake. Best wishes Ruth ----- Mensaje original ----- De: "Laurita BLOOMER" <[email protected]> Para: <[email protected]> Enviado: lunes, 08 de julio de 2002 18:40 Asunto: [Anglo-Italian] Alutto and Moriggia > I have just started trying to trace my family tree and would be interested to hear from anyone who has any knowledge of either the Alutto or the Moriggia families prior to 1900. 3. Hi Ruth Thank you for your reply. The only info we have on either family is that they both came from Como. Now whether that refers to the town or the province is anyone's guess. The person we spoke to at the state archives was extremely helpful and brought us all the records for the years around when we knew my grandfather was born but to no avail. Not an Alutto recorded anywhere. We have been able to trace the family since 1900 but it would be nice to find out whether my grandfather had any siblings etc. as we know little about his history prior to his marriage in 1902 in England. I will keep trying - wish me luck!! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ruth" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, July 08, 2002 6:34 PM Subject: RE: [Anglo-Italian] Alutto and Moriggia > Hi laurita, > My Grandfather also came from Como.
