A particularly valuable aspect of the society's work for Anglo-Italian family history is its long-running programme of Catholic church register transcriptions, making available records that otherwise would be difficult, if not impossible, to access. The society has concentrated on registers from before the time of civil registration, particularly baptisms, but some later registers have been transcribed. Most of the work has not been formally published but has been deposited in the appropriate local archives; a complete set is held by the Society of Genealogists and by the Catholic Central Library.
