I had free access to the digitalized version of the London Times for one day. My interest is the SCARPENTIS but thought others would be interested. The names were listed in French in 1843 but Italian in 1844. I can not guarantee the spelling, especially with the 2nd entry as it is tricky to read online. I have no idea at what age these men became eligible for conscription. I am assuming that the names were derived from the parish census and/or baptismal records. With regards to the SCARPENTIS, I do not have any information on a Louis/Luigi with sons Filipo or Giovanni. I have been through the parish records for Montegroppo and had tentatively identified a Giovanni/John Scarpenti as the brother of Antonio Scarpenti, and son of Giovanni SCARPENTI. Giovanni died at the London Fever Hospital in 1856.
