Hi Having a problem with this town. I am doing research on the Florio, Dispensa, Pollina families. On the ships manifest the above families list the town of Ventimiglia. as their last residence.On the mape, this town is located in the north of Italy by France. BUT, when searching a lot of the marriage certificates, the town that they were born in is listed as Ventimiglia, Palermo, Italy. I know that sometimes because of the accent, town names may be misspelled. I called the Italian Information Center here in New York City and they advised me to their knowledge, their is only one Ventimiglia. Does anyone know of a town in Sicily with a similar spelling?
