    3. I would appreciate some guidance from the more knowledgeable members of this list. My relative Valerie Fudge born in England in 1925 but of an Anglo Italian family on her mother's side, married some time before 1979 a man by the name of Caprioglio & was in 1979 living in Segrate just outside Milan. I have been unable to locate any marriage for her in England & therefore assume that she must have married in Italy. My question therefore is how to locate the marriage record. Am I right in assuming that there is no central register of Italian marriages & that one must enquire in the appropriate Region. Is it possible to make such an enquiry if specific details are not known. What if the location of the marriage is not known. Does it make any difference if one party was not Italian. Any help that anyone might be able to give would be much appreciated Many thanks. Stephen Emlyn-Jones Newton Porthcawl Wales

    3. Hi Stephen, Go to the Links page (compiled by Daphne Dashfield) on the Italian Family History Society's home page. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ukaifhg/ You will get links to the regions and comunes that you need to write to. Also there are links for writing to those comunes for information, in English and Italian, about your ancestors. Good luck with your search, Rod Saunders AIFHS http://www.rootsweb.com/~ukaifhg/ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stephen Emlyn-Jones" <stephen.emlynjones@btinternet.com> To: <ANGLO-ITALIAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 13, 2004 2:42 PM Subject: [Anglo-Italian] modern Italian marriage records > I would appreciate some guidance from the more knowledgeable members of this > list. > My relative Valerie Fudge born in England in 1925 but of an Anglo Italian > family on her mother's side, married some time before 1979 a man by the name > of Caprioglio & was in 1979 living in Segrate just outside Milan. > I have been unable to locate any marriage for her in England & therefore > assume that she must have married in Italy. > My question therefore is how to locate the marriage record. > Am I right in assuming that there is no central register of Italian > marriages & that one must enquire in the appropriate Region. > Is it possible to make such an enquiry if specific details are not known. > What if the location of the marriage is not known. > Does it make any difference if one party was not Italian. > Any help that anyone might be able to give would be much appreciated > Many thanks. > > Stephen Emlyn-Jones > Newton > Porthcawl > Wales > > > > ==== ANGLO-ITALIAN Mailing List ==== > to unsubscribe > anglo-italian-L-request@rootsweb.com for mail mode > anglo-italian-D-request@rootsweb.com for digest mode > > Anglo Italian Family History Society > http://www.anglo-italianfhs.org.uk > > ============================== > Gain access to over two billion names including the new Immigration > Collection with an Ancestry.com free trial. 3. No problem Rob, She is /was in fact a second cousin once removed. Thanks for your help. I hope someone can answer some of my specific queries as the on-line help does not seem to cover all of these.
