I am resending part of a post as I didn't receive any response to the following questions. 1. I have been researching my Italian ancestors for quite a while and have hit the proverbial brick wall. My gr-grandfather Amilcare PERUTELLI was born in Carrara, Tuscany in 1854. I have a copy of the baptism entry for the Church of S. Andrea Apostolo. His father, Domenico, came from Carrara, but his mother, Romana PIANINI was from a nearby town called Avenza. My first query is, would the parents have married in the groom's parish or the bride's? 2. Does anyone have any experience or advice regarding hiring a researcher in Italy? Maybe there is some sort of regulating body which could recommend a reputable researcher? Thanks for any suggestions, Jane
