A family friend visited me on Sunday and mentioned that if my great-great-grandfather arrived at the Pool of London he may well have gone to live in the Italian Community around the Clerkenwell area. My family believe that he arrived in this country when he was about 12 years of age (approx 1850) and finally made it to wales by 1861 (he was on the 1861 census). What records are available for the Clerkenwell and Italian communities in London?
