Can anyone tell me from which region of Italy this name may originate? Looking at the current surname distribution in Italy for BIASETTI, it is mostly in Emilia Romagna, Lombardy and Piemonte. Unfortunately it is not very rare, so it's hard to pinpoint a particular town or district. To see the distribution, just put the surname (cognome) into this site: http://www.gens.labo.net/it/cognomi/ This is one of several useful sites linked from the Anglo Italian Family History Society's website links page at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ukaifhg/docs/links.html . 3. Hi Amber, in Ancestry.co.uk there are a number of entries in their message board (guessing from USA) for Biasetti. One entry stated the family came from Cittanova in Italy if that's any help. Some birth & marr. listed in Manchester & Chorlton from 1879. 1. Help with Italian handwriting please!
    2. Sarah Pollard
    3. Hi everyone, I am quite new to this list. I am trying to research my Italian Nan, Anna Elisabeth Zoderer, who married my grandfather Harold Pollard on 11 Jan 1946 in Graz, Austria. She then moved to England with her new husband shortly afterwards. She was born on 20 March 1923. I have managed to get hold of a photocopy of her birth certificate but I am struggling to read the handwritten Italian words. If there is anyone out there familiar with the Italian language that would be happy to try to read a few words for me I would be very grateful. I can send the document as a jpg file so it will be easy to view. Thanks in advance for all help received. Sarah Pollard

    3. The recording was successful, though not of brilliant quality, and he refers quite a lot to the slides. We will get some CDs made up and these will be obtainable either by sending a cheque for £3.00 to the treasurer (a new order form will shortly be uploaded to the AIFHS website and members' Yahoo Group) or, if you wish to pay by credit card, via Parish Chest www.parishchest.co.uk for £3.30. Prices include postage, but a different rate applies for overseas postage. Please note that the recordings are only available to members of the Anglo-Italian Family History Society. If we can get hold of any of the maps and images referred to in the talk, we'll put them up on the website. Kind regards, Elaine Chair, AIFHS -- Have you joined? It costs just £5 to become an email member.
